Sapphire (FUE) versus Classic (FUE):
The difference between Sapphire FUE and Classic FUE regarding the opening of micro-channels
Sapphire FUE transplants are conducted using blades made from a precious gemstone called sapphire, instead of steel blades used in regular FUE transplants. This sapphire blade is especially useful for creating incisions within the recipient site. The blades are designed to minimize scab formation and speed up the recovery process through opening smaller micro channels within the recipient site for transplantation.

In FUE conducted with sapphire blades, after the patient is administered local anesthesia, hair follicles are extracted one by one from the donor area with the aid of a micro motor and micro punches in sizes of 0,6 - 0,7 - 0,8 mm.

With the FUE method, the extracted hair follicles are transplanted into the incisions that have been created. These channels have a major influence on the density, angle, and direction of hair growth, which are the determinants of obtaining a natural appearance. For this reason, opening the channels is considered to be the most important process for a successful operation.

The best possible way to open micro channels can now be achieved through the sapphire blades. The small incisions, which are at the same length of hair follicles, are created using sharp, smooth and durable sapphire blades varying in sizes of 1,0 -1,3 - 1,5 mm. As a result more channels can be opened, enabling the hair follicles to be transplanted closer to each other.

Hair Transplantation in Turkey FUE Technique:

For hair transplant in Turkey various techniques have been used . FUE (Follicular Unite Transplantation) technique is the latest technology in the hair transplant field in the world.

With FUE technique, the procedure starts with the local anesthesia to the donor area, the area in the back and sides of your head between two ears, followed by the individual extraction of the follicular units together with the surrounding microscopic tissue by using special tools appropriate for the thickness of the hair (0,6 – 0,9 mm) with no pain, no cutting, no scar or stitching. Then, the extracted follicular units are placed in the recipient hairless area.

The planting process is completed approximately in 4 to 8 hours in a single day without keeping you back from your social life. Considering how comfortable the procedure is, you should know that waiting for too long is nothing more than a waste of time. There will be no swelling on your head or bruising around your eyes, no pain or bleeding. We only require you to use the medication prescribed by your doctor carefully for a week and to follow our advices for a couple of days. Provided that you pay attention to these points, we will complete the post-transplantation period without any problems.

Hair Wash:
The first hair wash is performed by us on the 3rd day following the transplantation, and we explain and show you in detail how you should wash your hair. You do the subsequent washes during 10-12 days as explained to you and prevent any scabs or coagulation on the transplanted area.

Hair Growth Process :
The one-month period following the transplantation is “shock loss” period, also called the anagen phase. It is, in other words, shedding of implanted hair strands due to insufficient nutrition or exposition to airflow in the adaptation period of a few days. However, that does not mean that every patient experiences this period or that all of the implanted hair strands will fall out. That some or all of the implanted hair strands fall out is not a problem at all.
This is a normal phase.

By the 3rd month, the implanted hair slowly starts to grow and come out on the scalp. That means, you can easily observe your hair growing. By the 6th month, the process will be half-way through, meaning half of the implanted hair will have been grown. In minimum 8 months, maximum 18 months the implanted hair grows totally, and the process is completed.

The DHI method (Choi Pen in Turkey) is a hair transplant procedure that takes into account the comfort of the transplanting surgeon and his team, as well as the aesthetics of the patient. For the hair roots removed for transplanting, no holes / channels have to be drilled in the area where they are used and the hair roots are directly planted with a special device.

Beard and moustache transplantation is more difficult to apply and requires more precision compared to others.


As in hair transplantation, the patient’s need is taken into consideration and the operation is completed in a single day with transplantation of up to 4000-4500 grafts without time limitation. The thicker beard is, the more beautiful it looks.

Healing period is quite easy to go through. Tissues regenerate themselves in 7-10 days. The scabs formed during the operation disappear in 7-10 days. On the 10th day, the implanted grafts are finely in place.


In the 10-day period after the operation, the transplanted area is washed and scabbing is cleared away. It is a sensitive period that should be paid great attention under our observation.


The part of or the whole transplanted beard and moustache falls out (“shock loss”) within 1-2 months. This condition differs from one patient to other. While some patients never experience shedding, some others experience full loss. It is a normal process. After a resting phase, approximately 2 months after the operation, the transplanted beard and moustache start to grow and get into shape in 6 to 8 months.

The method involves special treatment of patient’s blood so that white blood cells and platelets are separated and injected into the area with no or thin hair. 10 ml of blood is drawn from the patient and then placed in a centrifuge for approximately 15 minutes where the platelet rich plasma is separated from red blood cells. The concentrated platelets are injected into the scalp in small doses in 10-minute application.

The plasma obtained during the PRP treatment includes highly concentrated thrombocytes (platelets) and leucocytes (white blood cells). Activated platelets and leucocytes secrete growth factors.
